Programs

The Corridor Program Office is strategically leveraging transportation improvement bond dollars to achieve comprehensive community outcomes and policy initiatives. The Corridor Construction Program is comprised of mobility, safety and connectivity improvements across nine corridors and are bound by City Council’s Contract With Voters to make corridors, “livable, walkable, safe, and transit-supportive…promoting healthy, equitable, and complete communities.”

Art In Public Places

Art In Public Places (AIPP) installations are anticipated for each of the nine corridors. They will be implemented through design and construction projects within the roadway segments highlighted. Artists will work with city staff, project engineers and the community to inspire and locate the art works.
Public art projects will be included in the Corridor Construction Program through the City of Austin Art in Public Places Program and will aim to increase the quality of public places and the experience of Austinites and visitors walking, busing, biking, or driving through the corridors. AIPP seeks to attract artists to the City’s public art program, enrich the dialogue surrounding mobility and enrich the culture of Austin’s public spaces.
Artists considered for the Corridor AIPP artist pool, were required to submit applications in March 2020. Selected artists were required to meet eligibility, evaluation and submission requirements. Learn more about this process and other public art opportunities on AIPP’s website.

Private Development Coordination Opportunities

The Corridor Program Office closely coordinates with private development projects along the corridor improvement area once plans have been formally submitted to the City.
If you have a project that is upcoming but not formally submitted we are actively working to understand design impacts in advance.
