This platform serves as a centralized hub for information on various sectors of the Austin Police Department, providing community members and analysts with timely, reliable, and well-documented data on policing activities.

The data below is sourced from the NIBRS Group A Offense Crimes dataset, covering the period from January 1, 2020, to the end of the most recent complete month. Click the "View Measure" link at the bottom of each card to view more details.
The displayed data reflects the number of reported crimes for the most recent complete month.
If a tile shows data from an earlier month, it indicates that no data is available for the most recent complete month.


APD Crime Statistics Dashboard

  1. Choose "Frank" from the "Select APD Sector" dropdown to filter by the Frank sector.
  2. Use the "Select Year", "Select Month", "Select Council District", and "Select NIBRS Category" dropdowns to filter further.
  3. A tooltip is a rectangular box containing helpful information that appears when hovering over the visualizations on our interactive dashboard. Additionally, you can hover over each question mark at the top right corner of each visualization to learn more about the displayed data.

Crime In Your Area

  1. Click on the "Crime Search" magnifying glass icon below.
  2. Type an address into the "Start typing an Address here..." box.
  3. Choose a Distance to buffer, Start Date, and End Date.
  4. Click the Submit button.

Find Your Council District and Representative

  1. Click on the blue "I want to..." button below.
  2. Select "Find My Council District"
  3. Type an address into the "Start typing an address" box.
  4. Click the Submit button.
