2016 Mobility Bond Corridor
Construction Program

In November 2016, Austin voters approved $720 million for local, corridor and regional mobility projects. The largest portion is earmarked for the Corridor Mobility Program, with a goal of completing the corridor improvement projects funded by the 2016 Mobility Bond within eight years. Most of the funding for the Corridor Mobility Program will go to development and implementation of the Corridor Construction Program.

Potential Mobility and Safety Improvements

Since 2011, the City of Austin has been working with the community to develop Corridor Mobility Plans for nine corridors.
These Corridor Mobility Plans identify recommended short-, medium, and long-term safety and mobility improvements. The types of recommended improvements in the Corridor Mobility Plans are depicted to the right or below.
The cost to construct all of the recommended improvements in the Corridor Mobility Plans for the nine corridors exceeds the amount of funding available. As a result, the recommended improvements must be prioritized for inclusion in the proposed Corridor Construction Program, which City Council must approve before the improvements are constructed. This is required by City Council’s Contract With Voters, City Council’s promise to you.
While all of the recommendations in the Corridor Mobility Plans are important and aim to improve mobility, improvements with the highest mobility outcomes, along with community considerations, will be prioritized for inclusion in the proposed Corridor Construction Program, which is required by the Contract With Voters.
