North Lamar Boulevard/Guadalupe Street Corridors
The City of Austin's 2016 Mobility Bond provided funding for development of a Corridor Mobility Plan for the North Lamar Boulevard/Guadalupe Street corridors. The plan would make recommendations to improve safety, mobility, and connectivity for all corridor users – including people who drive, walk, bike, and take transit. The limits of the plan are between Lady Bird Lake and US 183 for the North Lamar portion, and from 29th Street to North Lamar Boulevard for the Guadalupe portion.
The Corridor Program Office (CPO) began developing the plan in early 2018. Soon after, Capital Metro launched the Project Connect visioning process to develop a long-term transit plan for the region, including the North Lamar Boulevard and Guadalupe Street corridors.
Project Connect
In November 2020, Austin voters passed Proposition A,
approving funding for implementation of Capital Metro’s Project Connect plan, which includes light rail
along the North Lamar
Boulevard and Guadalupe Street corridors.
CPO is sharing information and data that was
collected during the Corridor Mobility Plan development process with Capital
Metro to advance their plans for improving mobility and safety on the
corridors. The City of Austin’s coordination with Capital Metro is ongoing, as
we work together to shape our community’s mobility future.
