Digital Inclusion Week 2023!
Digital Inclusion Week (DIW) aims to raise awareness for solutions addressing home internet access, personal devices and local technology training and support programs. This year, Digital Inclusion Week occurs from October 2-7. The City of Austin and the Digital Empowerment Community of Austin (DECA) are offering a host of events for residents to learn more the digital divide and how to achieve digital inclusion and equity. There are a host of activities on the launch day including workshops at the Austin Public Library and an "All Together For Digital Inclusion - Stakeholder Summit" Launch Reception at the LBJ School. Other sessions include an Austin Film Society movie screening, Connect to Tech (a workforce support event at Goodwill), and other helpful sessions from local partners throughout the week. The week wraps up with a Tech for All Fest! celebration on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Eastside Early College High School from 2 to 6 p.m.
The Connect to Tech event this year will feature Dell's Alienware Mobile Gaming Lounge. It offers the ultimate in the latest gaming tech with 12 fully equipped battle stations that includes Fortnite, Fall Guys, Red Out and many more. Also, it's possible to score Alienware merch.
DIW Poster Design Competition!
The City of Austin is hosting ArtConnect, a youth art competition in honor of Digital Inclusion Week.
Submitted artwork will be used in digital inclusion marketing throughout the year. It will be hosted in multiple City gallery spaces.
THEME: What does a digitally connected world look like to you?
DEADLINE FOR ENTRY: August 31 at 11:59 p.m. Digital and physical submissions can be submitted until then.
