Assessment of Results
Imagine Austin provides a detailed 30-year plan for the City of Austin’s future and lays out a vision for how the city can grow in a compact and connected way. Since the adoption of the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan in 2012, four annual reports have been produced and presented to the Planning Commission and Council. The City uses various types of media and multiple forums to engage the public and City staff about Imagine Austin.
The Imagine Austin Annual Report provides key facts and accomplishments of the Imagine Austin Priority Program teams over the course of the fiscal year. The purpose of the annual report is to highlight the important initiatives that are helping make Imagine Austin a reality in our community. The Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan consists of a 5-point implementation program that focuses on the areas of: education and engagement, internal alignment, regulations, capital investments, and partnerships.

In Spring 2017, Planning and Zoning will begin to compile the five-year Evaluation and Appraisal Report. The Evaluation and Appraisal Report provides key facts and accomplishments of the Imagine Austin Priority Program teams over the course of a year, including the complete community indicators. Complete community indicators are numeric indicators used in plan implementation and monitoring to measure whether or not the goals and vision of the plan are being met. At each five-year period after adoption, the Evaluation and Appraisal Report takes the place of the Annual Report.
