Case Response Time Efficiency

Return to the Austin Code Department's 2019 home page
The Austin Code Department investigates a wide array of cases. Some code cases pose high-risk with building structural failures and require quick response. Austin Code keeps track of how effectively we respond to the severity of the problem. Last year, we increased our response time and hit the mark in over 80% of the cases.

In 2017, the Austin Code Department began a system to prioritize its cases . This scheduling system creates priority levels for each code complaint reported by the community, based on the level of risk and complexity. The levels range from Priority 1, which are imminent dangerous conditions that risk life safety, to Priority 5, which are general abatement cases such as high weeds and standing water.
