Transportation safety projects are comprehensive improvements that construct or enhance existing travel lanes, traffic signals, markings, sidewalks, shared-use paths, and other infrastructure with the goal of reducing crashes for all forms of mobility.

This dataset supports M.C.1.a of SD 2023. The data on permitted new residential units is collected by the Development Services Department and accessed by staff through the permit database known as AMANDA. Spatial data on existing high-frequency transit routes is provided by Capital Metro, while data on existing protected bicycle infrastructure is maintained by the Austin Transportation Department and the Public Works Department. Each row displays residential units permitted each fiscal year and how many are within a quarter mile of a high frequency transit route or protected bicycle facility.The dataset can be used to understand residential development trends in relation to high frequency transit routes. This dataset contains information about long line markings work performed since 2019 by the Signs and Markings Division in the Transportation and Public Works Department. Related table of long line markings dates. The work order ID originated from the roadway markings work orders and the contractor work order dataset that pulls from the Signs and Markings Operations Work Order tracking system. The work dates originate from data tracker or were collected in GIS prior to the association of work order IDs to long line markings assets. Long line includes high level location information about which roadways have long line markings.

This dataset is used to join Vision Zero crash records to mobility project records, so that they can be used in further analysis. The records are joined by selecting crashes whose locations fall within 40-feet of a project.

This data is not meant to be useful for analysis on its own, but rather an intermediary step for linking and conducting analyses between crash records and mobility project records.
